Daytona Beach police investigating possible stabbing death at motel
(Orlando Sentinel)

Daytona Beach police are investigating the Saturday night death of a 34-year-old man at the Happy Holiday Motel.

A manager who lives at the motel, on 1617 North Atlantic Ave., told authorities that he heard “persistent knocking” on his front door around 11 p.m.

When he opened the door, he found former motel guest Jeffrey J. Schusky bleeding and crawling on the ground, the department said in a statement.

Schusky was unresponsive on the ground when paramedics arrived and found with a knife next to his body.

He died at the scene, the department said.

He had a puncture wound in his stomach but police said said it is “unclear what caused it or if that has anything to do with his death.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Jayson Wallace at (386) 671-5207 or [email protected]
